Description
Most solar electric systems are simple grid-tied types. Adding energy storage and “smart grid” capability through an intelligent upgrade called AC-coupling is one of the biggest growth opportunities in renewable energy, and an ideal point-of-entry for electrical contractors wanting to get into solar.
This workshop teaches the fundamentals of AC-Coupling, which adds a second smarter inverter/charger with attached energy storage (battery bank) to an existing PV/solar system, converting it from Grid-Tied to Grid-Interactive. Topics include recommended power ratings, system sizing, and other considerations.
